The Western Pennsylvania Sting are a professional indoor football team due to begin play in the Ultimate Indoor Football League for its 2012 season. Based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the Sting will play their home games at Cambria County War Memorial Arena, as well as future sites of UIFL teams before finding a permanent home in 2013. They will compete as a member of the UIFL's new North Confrence. They will be taking over for the Saginaw Sting who were suspended from the league. The new Sting will retain all of the Saginaw Sting's UIFL records. On November 30, 2011, they announced that they would be coached by Paul Pennington.[1]

The Sting are the second indoor football team to play in Johnstown, along with current UIFL member, the Johnstown Generals which play in the Cambria County War Memorial Arena as well.
