Future Super Bowl MVP Len Dawson was the starting quarterback for the Boilermakers. This was the last season in the 'Stuart Holcomb'-era at Purdue University. Future College Hall of Fame Coach Jack Mollenkopf was named the new Head Coach; Mollenkopf had been an assistant on the Purdue staff since 1947.
