The Montreal AAA Winged Wheelers were a member of the Interprovincial Rugby Football Union, a league that preceded the Canadian Football League. It was likely a team from the fabled Montreal AAA founded in 1872 as the Montreal Foot Ball Club. The MFBC joined the Quebec Rugby Football Union in 1883.[1]
The AAA Winged Wheelers was one of a few football or rugby teams from Montreal:
- Montreal Alouettes 1946–1981, 1986–1987, 1996–present
- Montreal Concordes 1982–1985
- Montreal Indians 1937[2]
- Montreal Cubs 1938
- Montreal Royals (football) 1939–1941
The team won the 1931 Grey Cup championship.
