Michael Frier (born March 20, 1969 in Jacksonville, North Carolina) is a former American football defensive end/defensive tackle in the National Football League. He played collegiately at Appalachian State University and professionally with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Seattle Seahawks.
Career ending injury[]
Lamar Smith, his teammate with the Seahawks, was charged with vehicular assault in 1994, when he was drinking and driving prior to a car wreck that left teammate Frier paralyzed from the neck down. Smith in a legal settlement was forced to pay a portion of his salary for his entire career to Frier.
He has a 17 year old daughter, Mik'kell Frier.
