Michael Jerome Reed (born August 16, 1972 in Wilmington, Delaware) is a retired American professional football player and current college football assistant coach at Clemson University, serving as the defensive backs coach under head coach Dabo Swinney.
Playing career[]
Reed played college football at Boston College for four seasons. Reed was drafted in the seventh round of the 1995 NFL Draft as the final pick of the expansion Carolina Panthers making him Mr. Irrelevant. He played in three games (one in 1995 and two in 1996) and registered two tackles.[1] He also played two seasons in the NFL Europe with the Frankfurt Galaxy.
