Melvin Lane Vines (February 20, 1904 – December 26, 1984) was an American football player and coach. He was a high school football coach for many years in the state of Alabama.[1] Vines served as the head football coach at the University of Tampa in 1942. As a college football player, he was a member of two national championship teams at the University of Alabama.[2]
