Max Andrew Bumgardner (May 13, 1923 – April 12, 2005) was an American football defensive back. After earning his B.S. in Physical Education from the University of Texas in 1948,[1] he was drafted to play professionally by the Chicago Bears, but was sent to the Detroit Lions. He played for just one year.[2]
