The Clemson Tigers college football team competes as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision, representing Clemson University in the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Clemson has played their home games at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina since 1942.[1] The Tigers have won one national championship, in 1981,[2] recorded 18 conference championships, and have played in 34 Bowl Games, winning 16.[3] With 651 wins over 116 seasons of football, Clemson ranks 34th all-time in win-loss records in the NCAA.[4]

Notes[]

  1. The Atlantic Coast Conference introduced divisional play in 2005; the divisional winners advance to the ACC Championship Game to determine the conference champion.[10]
  2. Overtime rules in college football were introduced in 1996, making ties impossible in the period since.[11]
