Lionel Vital (born July 15, 1963 in Loreauville, Louisiana) is a former American football running back in the National Football League for the Washington Redskins. He was drafted by the Redskins in the seventh round of the 1985 NFL Draft. Vital also played in the Canadian Football League for two seasons. He played college football at Nicholls State University.
He currently serves as the director of player personnel for the Atlanta Falcons. He was promoted from assistant director of player personnel by the Atlanta Falcons when David Caldwell left the organization to become the general manager of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He previously was a scout for the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Cleveland Browns.
