Lee McLaughlin is a former player in the National Football League.


McLaughlin was born Lee Massey McLaughlin on February 28, 1917 in Brownsburg, Virginia.[1] During World War II, he served as an officer in the United States Navy. He died on August 13, 1968.

Playing careerEdit

McLaughlin played with the Green Bay Packers during the 1941 NFL season. He played at the collegiate level at the University of Virginia.

Coaching careerEdit

McLaughlin was named head football coach at Washington and Lee University in 1957. During his time there he would lead the team to the National Small-College Championship in 1961 and was named National College Coach of the Year that season. In 1966, he was awarded the Sports Illustrated Silver Anniversary Award.

He is an inductee in the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.[2]
