Paul Kevin Turner (born June 12, 1969) is an American former professional American football fullback in the National Football League for eight seasons for the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.[1]

In June 2010, Turner was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis also referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease.[2] He is now involved in research that links chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) to ALS, agreeing to donate his brain and spinal cord when he dies.

Turner's battle with ALS is documented in the music video for the song "Journey On" by Ty Herndon. Turner and his two children appear in the music video along with Herndon.

In 2012, Jon Frankel of HBO worked with Turner to create the documentary film American Man,[3] describing Turner's life, especially his battle with ALS.
