John Luckhardt is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach at California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania, a position he has held since 2002.[1] Luckhardt coached at Washington & Jefferson College from 1982 to 1998, where he compiled a record of 137–37–2 and posted a school record for wins.[2] He was elected to the Washington & Jefferson College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007.[3]

Luckhardt's record at California was 78–30 in his first nine years as head coach (2002–2010).[4][5]

Luckhardt attended Chartiers Valley High School.[6] He then moved on to Purdue University and played for the Purdue Boilermakers football, where he was a linebacker on the 1967 Rose Bowl team.[6]
