A native of Washington, Michigan, he attended Romeo High School and played college football at Western Michigan University. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round (48th overall pick) of the 1962 NFL Draft. He appeared in three games at the offensive tackle position for the team during its 1962 season.[1] In June 1963, he signed a contract to return to the Lions,[2] but he was released in August 1963.[3]
