Joe Newton (born October 15, 1983 in Roseburg, Oregon) was an American football tight end who is a practice squad player for the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He was signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2007. He played college football at Oregon State.
In high school, Newton was also a standout in track and field. He won the 4A state discus title as a senior with a toss of 178-10. That toss was more than 17 feet better than the second-place competitor.

Newton was a May 2009 free agent signing of the National Football League Seattle Seahawks. On September 1, 2007, Newton was one of 21 players cut by the Seahawks to cut its roster limit to the required 53-man roster. He was later re-signed to the Seahawks practice squad where he spent the entire season.
