Gary Allen is a former all-star and award winning running back in the Canadian Football League and the National Football League.

A graduate of University of Hawaii, where he rushed for 1000 yards twice (1979 & 1981),[1] Allen was drafted by the Houston Oilers in 1982. He ended up playing 8 games with the Oilers and 22 games with the Dallas Cowboys over 3 seasons, mostly returning punts and kickoffs.[2] Canada beckoned in 1986, and he had his best year, leading the league in rushing and being named an all-star, rushing for 1153 yards. He rushed for another 857 in 1987 (again an all star,) and returned punts both years.[3] His performance fell off in 1988, with only 100 rushing yards, and he finished his career with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.[4]
