Fred O'Connor is an American football coach. He has served in coaching positions in the National Football League, the Canadian Football League, and NCAA college football. His most prominent coaching position was serving as interim head coach of the San Francisco 49ers for the last seven games of the 1978 season. Following the season, he would be replaced by now-legendary coach Bill Walsh.
