Drake M. Nevis (born May 8, 1989) is a Canadian football defensive tackle plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at LSU. He was drafted in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.[1]

High school careerEdit

Nevis attended John Ehret High School in Marrero, Louisiana, where he recorded 72 tackles (17 for losses), 18 sacks, 25 quarterback hurries, eight forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles as a senior. He received Class 5A first-team all-state honors and a SuperPrep All-American selection. Regarded as a four-star recruit by, Nevis was listed as the No. 9 defensive tackle prospect in the class of 2007.[2]

Professional careerEdit

Indianapolis ColtsEdit

After a 2-year stint with the Indianapolis Colts, Nevis was released on September 1, 2013.

San Diego ChargersEdit

Shortly after his release from the Colts, the San Diego Chargers claimed him off waivers. Nevis was released on September 17, 2013.

Dallas CowboysEdit

He signed with the Dallas Cowboys on September 24, 2013.[3] The Cowboys waived Nevis on December 13.[4]

Jacksonville JaguarsEdit

Nevis was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on December 23, 2013.[5] He was released on May 12, 2014.

Carolina PanthersEdit

Nevis was claimed off waivers on May 13, 2014 by the Carolina Panthers.[6]
