David Allen (born February 9, 1978 in Euless, Texas) is an American football running back who last played with the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League. He was originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State University by the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was a first team All-American in 1998.

He played his high school football in Liberty, Missouri. His jersey hangs on the wall in Liberty High School. David Allen returned seven punts for a touchdown in his career, which tied the NCAA record in 1999.
