Brent Omar Grimes (born July 19, 1983) is an American football cornerbackthat is currently a free agent in the National Football League (NFL).[1] He played college football at Shippensburg University, and was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent in 2006.

Professional career[]

Atlanta Falcons[]

Grimes was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Falcons in 2006. But before playing in Atlanta, Grimes played overseas in NFL Europe for the Hamburg Sea Devils. He starred for the Sea Devils and soon found himself on the Falcons active roster in 2007. After spending the 2007 and 2008 season's as primarily a special teamer, Grimes turned out an impressive 2009 season, registering 66 tackles and 6 interceptions. He finally began to draw some attention from fans and the rest of the league and after a 2010 season in which he recorded 87 tackles and 5 interceptions, and eventually voted to the Pro Bowl. Brent then had 2 injury plagued seasons in 2011 and 2012. In 2012, he missed the entire season after tearing his achilles in the first game of the season, that being a 40-24 triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs.
