Alexander H. Bondurant was an American football coach and educator. He served as the founder of and as the first head football coach at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) in 1893.[1] During his one-season tenure at Mississippi, Bondurant compiled an overall record of four wins and one loss (4–1).[2] From 1889 to 1936 Bondurant served as part of the faculty as a professor of Classics at Mississippi.[3]
