Not to be confused with the modern Alamo Bowl, this version was contested only once: in 1947 at Alamo Stadium in San Antonio, Texas, contested between Hardin-Simmons University and University of Denver. The lack of attendance caused the game to be a financial failure and was not scheduled again.
