In its sixth season under head coach Cac Hubbard, the team compiled a 5–5–1 record (4–1–1 against MSC opponents), won the conference championship, lost to Hardin–Simmons in the 1947 Alamo Bowl, and was outscored by a total of 182 to 179.[1]
