The 1942 Pittsburgh Steelers season marked the club's tenth anniversary as a member of the National Football League. The team improved on their previous season result of 1–9–1 with a record of 7–4–0, which was good enough for 2nd place in the NFL East. This was the franchise's first ever winning record.

For the second straight year, the team held training camp in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
